Lares Trek Machu Picchu 4 Days – On this trip we will hike for 5 to 7 hours per day, all the time at an altitude of about 2900 m, where we will have breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks and many beautiful lakes. We will camp near the communities to be able to observe and appreciate the art and textiles preserved by these communities
We leave Cusco early in the morning by bus and travel through the Sacred Valley to reach the hot springs of Lares and take the morning in the medicinal hot springs, after lunch, we have two hours walk to our campsite.
After continuing through the valley, we arrive at the community of Huacawasi. The people here produce some of the best weavings in Peru. Here we can observe their excellent skills and brilliant techniques in the manufacture of ponchos and other garments. Passing through the village, we begin to climb up to Condor Pass, the second of the trip at 4100m. From here we have a breathtaking view of the famous Mount Veronica (5750m). Descending gently for about an hour, we arrive at the beautiful Espsaycocha Lake, our last campsite.
After breakfast, descending towards the valley, we arrive to the community of willoc where we have lunch, from here it takes two hours to get to Pumamarka and enjoy the Inca terraces, family we arrive to Ollantaytambo. Located in a fertile river valley and sheltered by gigantic mountains, are these ancient living museums in the world. This is a perfect place to appreciate the vast archaeological remains and a great variety of flower and bird species. The group takes the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and spends the night in a comfortable lodge.
After an early breakfast, we will take the bus to Machu Picchu; we check in and begin our 3-hour guided tour. After enjoying the remains, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy the town before returning to Cusco.
