DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA (BIKING)
The Inca jungle trip to Machu Picchu during your tour combines several sports such as: biking, hiking and zipline.
We will pick you up from 7:30 to 8:00 am, then we will leave the city of Cusco and we will see a beautiful natural environment with hills until we reach the town of Chinchero overlooking the Sacred Valley at approximately 2 700 masl / 8 858 feet. After descending this hillside, we arrive to a brief stop in Ollantaytambo, where we start the 46 km. uphill to ABRA MALAGA (Mountain pass at 4 350 masl / 14 271 ft.) approx. at 11:00 am, the starting point again to our descent, in case the weather is not good for biking due to fog, rain or snow, we will go further down with the bus for about 30 minutes more to the next place being the village of Carrizales where we will rest a bit and have lunch, after that we will descend towards the hot high jungle valley towards QUILLABAMBA, this descent will take about 5 hours, passing through small rustic villages,
DAY 2: SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA (TREKKING)
We will have a healthy breakfast to start walking on a flat area along the Urubamba River for about 1 hour. Then we continue up the route for 3 more hours, taking the ancient Inca jungle trail, a rustic and rugged path full of rocks and stones (with some steps in it), crossing the river using the ancient Oroyas (Cablecar bridges) and footbridges. We can observe various wild animals of the region, such as birds, fruits and medicinal plants, and then reach the village of Qellumayu, where we will rest and have lunch. Then we will continue our walk along the river for two more hours to the hot springs. We will relax for about 1 hour and continue walking 30 minutes more to reach the town of SANTA TERESA, approx. at 6:00 pm and spend another night.
DAY 3: SANTA TERESA – MACHUPICCHU TOWN (TREKKING)
This morning, after breakfast, we will continue our trek to the hydroelectric (power plant). This part of the trek is called the waterfall day, where we pass many waterfalls and especially one that falls from 45 m above is the smallest. Once we reach the power plant and rest and have lunch, we will continue our journey two more hours until we reach our final destination today Machu Picchu, the town known as Aguas Calientes (at the foot of the citadel of Machu Picchu) arriving here at 05:30 pm approximately.
DAY 4: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO
“end of the adventure through the Inca jungle to Machu Picchu”.
We will wake up at 04:30 am to have enough time to climb the steep trail to the MACHU PICCHU Sanctuary in approximately 1:30 h. and enjoy the sunrise, then you will get private guide inside the citadel of Machu Picchu for 2 hours approximately, then you can walk freely until noon to relax, take snapshots, walk and climb to the summit of Wayna Picchu or just walk to the Intipunku or the drawbridge of the Incas. We will return to Machu Picchu village according to the return time, which can be at 02:26 pm, 18:03 pm, 19:00 pm or other time, when booking your trip, you will get more information and we will be happy to receive your suggestions.
