In the morning, we will pick you up from your accommodation at approximately 4:00 am. We will begin the two and a half hour drive towards Marcaconga village, located at an altitude of approximately 11,800 feet (3,597 meters). From there, we will continue into the district of Pitumarca, where we will stop for breakfast.

After breakfast, we will return to the car for thirty more minutes of driving along a zig-zagging, unpaved road until we reach Punta Carretera, situated at an elevation of around 13,800 feet (4,206 meters). Here, we will have ten minutes to stretch, organize our things, and make any final preparations for our trek.

Hike across gently rolling terrain for about two hours, enjoying the stunning landscapes adorned with small glacial lakes along the way. The trail will lead us to the Waqrapukara Overlook, where we will pause briefly to take our first pictures of this incredible fortress perched on the edge of a canyon.

Upon arrival at Waqrapukara, situated at an altitude of approximately 14,900 feet (4,540 meters), we will have approximately an hour to explore the ruins. We can climb through the remains of the temple, capturing photos against the breathtaking canyon scenery, and find rest on clifftops in the shadows of the stone walls.

When the group is ready, we will make our way back to the car and begin the return journey to Cusco. The estimated arrival time in Cusco is approximately 4:00 pm.

Please note that altitudes mentioned are approximate and may vary slightly based on specific locations within the mentioned areas.
