Full Itinerary Tour Pallay Punchu Trek Full 1 Day

Rainbow Mountain (also called Pallay Punchu of Apu Tacllo or Montaña filuda de colores) is one of the new and best attractions in Cusco which was discovered in Quarantine(COVID-19). Located more than 194 kilometers from the city of Cusco, on an elevation summit located at 4,791 masl / 15,7181 fasl, it’s a mountainous formation tinged with various shades as a result of the complex combination of minerals. The slopes and summit are highlighted in various colors including red, purple, green, pink, and others. Since 2020, this place has welcomed visitors.

Day 1 : Cusco – Cusipata – Sicuani – Layo – Pallay Punchu

We will pick you up from your hotel around 03:30 am. We drive nearly 4 hours in a private van to the trailhead where we will provide you box breakfast upon arrival to fuel up for the hike ahead of you. After enjoying our breakfast we start hiking up looking down to the Langui Lake. We are going to hike around 2 hours roughly until the top of the Pallay Punchu Mountain, we will have time to explore the area and take pictures. you will spend approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour (depend on your hiking speed and weather conditions).

After enjoying the Pallay Punchu for about one hour, we get back to the trailhead (1 hour roughly), where we catch our van, then we drive for 2 hours to our Lunch spot Cusipata(3,250m/11,000feet) where you will be given delicious food and them drive back to Cusco arriving at your hotel around 05:00 pm roughly.

Intinerary Sacred Valley Tour Full Day

The tour start in Cusco at 7:30 AM, your guide will pick  you up from your hotel lobby in Cusco, then we will travel by our private car to the sacred valley of the inkas for around 45 minutes, on the way we will stop in strategical view points, we will be able to see the Sacred Valley and get  into the Inca history, once we arrive to Pisaq we will visit the famous typical  craft market then, we will drive towards the ruins of Pisac, where we will see impressive agriculture terraces on the mountain and beautifull inka temples, after exploring we head to the town of Urubamba (one hour drive) we will meet for lunch at a local Andean restaurant. This meal is not included in the tour,  they usually offer buffet lunch.
After lunch, will drive next to the Urubamba River towards to Ollantaytambo. Once we reach this village we will visit the Inka City, and the important area of Incan construction, built during the Inca’s heydays, Ollantaytambo Fortress that constituted a strategic military, agricultural and religious center to administer and control the Sacred Valley of the Incas; this is deduced by the constructions that presumably were for agricultural deposits and for military use like walls and watchtowers (probably to protect themselves from the jungle ethnic groups). This archaeological site comprises a series of overlapping terraces, showing the impressive and large stone blocks finely carved and located on the upper terrace, where descendants of the Incas are still living in the inkas houses.
On the way back to Cusco, we’ll visit the picturesque village of Chinchero where there are the remains of the “Royal Hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui”. You will admire its well preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the portico, this temple was built on the foundations of an Inca building.Here we can also visit its artisan market and enjoy the demonstration of the natural dyeing of wool and tissues.

PISAC : Pisac is located at 33 km from Cusco by paved road. It has an ancient village, an archaeological site considered one of the most important of Cusco, and a modern town of colonial origin. This place also has a Sunday market which attracts thousands of visitors and people from remote villages, using colourful traditional clothes. Here it is recommended to buy all crafts, since these are cheaper than in the city of Cusco.

OLLANTAYTAMBO : Typical Inca village located at 21 Km from Urubamba (2,800 masl). It was named in honour of the Chief Ollanta, famous for his affair with an Inca princess, daughter of Pachacutec. One of the best preserved areas lies in the north of the Hanan Huacaypata Square, a total of 15 blocks of houses built of carved stone walls. In the vast archaeological site, located on the hill which call the people, structures such as the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana and the Baths of the Princess. ITINERARY  Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun)

The tour starts at 7:00 am. with the pick up from the hotel, from there we go to the first place. The Inti Raymi festival consists of three scenes that take place in three different places.
Coricancha or Temple of the Sun. – Beginning of the Inti Raymi tour with the ceremony called “Salute to the Sun”. In this area the first rituals are performed. Duration approx. 1 hour.
Main Square of Cusco or Huaqaypata. – It is the second point of celebration of the Inti Raymi. Here takes place the ceremony “Meeting of the times and ceremony of the coca leaf”, where the Inca and his retinue gather in the great USHNU or ceremonial stage. This staging is mostly visualized standing up. Duration approx. 1 hour.
Sacsayhuaman Esplanade. – It is the third epicenter of the Inti Raymi and the central ceremony. You will be able to see the performance of the rite of the CHICHA, the millenary drink of the Incas and also the symbolic sacrifice of a llama. Duration approx. 2 hours.
After the tour ends at approximately 5:00 PM.

1.What is the duration of the tour?

The excellent Inti Raymi package offered by PERU ADVENTURE TREK starts a little before 8:00 am and lasts until 3:30 pm. We will provide your lunch (box lunch).

2. What is the cost of the entrance fees and are they included?

The majestic Inti Raymi takes place in three historical locations in the city of Cusco: the temple of Koricancha, the Plaza de Armas and finally the enormous fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Entrance fees to all three locations are included in the cost of the package, and our agency will purchase them for you.

3. What will I be able to see in this ceremony?

The ritual takes place according to the way it was done in Inca times. In the Koricancha, professional and experienced actors recreate the pomp and authority of the Inca nobility, with their leaders and priests. The emperor or Inca announces the beginning of the ritual, which was attended by notables from all regions of the Empire, to the sound of typical music.

Then, the ceremony moves to the Plaza de Armas, formerly called Auqaypata (Plaza del Guerrero) where the Inca and his main priests pay homage to the Sun God, a reading of coca leaves is performed (traditional Andean belief where they ask about the future).

Finally, the Inca is taken in a litter to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, where he continues to preside over the ceremony. The actors wear beautiful traditional costumes, parade and develop their choreography to the rhythm of Andean music with drums and chants. In Sacsayhuaman, the llama sacrifice is performed, since it was believed that the meat and blood of this camelid was sacred and possessed magical powers (obviously nowadays this ritual is simulated only with llama fur). In addition, the whole liturgy is developed in honor of the Sun God, praying for a new cycle of prosperity, especially for the agricultural activity.

In the Cusco region it is always necessary to register with an identity document. You can do it with your passport or official identity card, depending on whether you are a citizen of a Spanish-speaking country. You can ask the Peruvian embassy or consulate in your country.

5. Is the ceremony performed in Quechua?

Yes, the speeches of the Inca priests are said in Quechua, the official language of the Inca Empire. We offer you a professional and experienced guide who will explain at all times the entirety of what is happening in the ceremony. He is fully qualified to answer any questions you may have.

From there, we will drive for around one hour more to get to the starting point of our hike, where we will have breakfast. After breakfast, we will start our hike. From that point, we will be really close to the other six lakes, and the way will get easier as it will go mostly downhill or flat. We will begin the two and a half hour drive towards Marcaconga village, then continue into the district of Pitumarca, where we will eat breakfast.

After breakfast, we will return to the car for thirty more minutes of driving along a zig-zagging, unpaved road, until we reach Punta Carretera. Here, we will have ten minutes to stretch, organize our things, and make any final preparations for our trek. We will walk across gently rolling terrain for about two hours, observing gorgeous landscapes studded with small glacial lakes along the way.

Once we arrive at the Waqra Pukara Overlook, we will pause briefly to take our first photos of this incredible fortress perched on the edge of a canyon. We will then descend for about forty minutes along a steep, cliffside path into the site itself, while the Apurimac River runs swiftly below.

We will explore the ruins for approximately an hour and a half, climbing through the remains of the temple, taking photos against the incredible canyon scenery, and resting on clifftops in the shadows of the stone walls. When the group is ready, we will begin the ascent back the way we came. We will reach the car after about three hours of trekking, and return to Cusco at approximately 6:00 pm.

The tour begins with the pick-up from your accommodation between 4:30 and 4:45 am. If your hotel or hostel is not located in the city center, we will pick you up from the doorway of our office building. Once the whole group is gathered, around 5:00 am, we will start our journey in our private transportation.

We will then have a two hours hour van journey to the town of Combapata, where we will have our local continental breakfast. After this will continue drive for 15 minutes until we will get the Combapata viewpoint, from which we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes and see where the Salcca River meets the Vilcanota, the Sacred River of the Incas. Then, we will continue our journey to Yanaoca, one of the eight districts in the Canas province of Cusco. From Yanaoca, we will drive thirty minutes more to the Q’ewe district. From there, you will have your first glimpse of the ancient bridge suspended between the steep rock cliffs, as we drive down the Apurimac canyon. We will then leave the car and descend a steep path to a viewpoint to take photos, before carefully crossing the bridge together! Get ready for the adrenaline rush of a lifetime as you make your way across the swaying bridge, and try not to look too closely at the river several meters below! On the other side, the bridge attendant will greet us and give a brief demonstration of the bridge’s history and construction. After visiting the bridge, we will drive  to the ´place where we will have lunch. Then will continue driving to the region’s where the four famous lakes are: Pampamarca, Asnacqoccha, Acopia, and Pomacanchi. Set like jewels among the gold-green hills, they shine in the warm, afternoon sun as native flamingos and other birds fly and feed around their edges.

Your tour guide will come to pick you up at 5:00 am to your respective hotel, we will board our private van and  go to the town Cusipata during the trip we will go through different villages and enjoy the incredible views of the Peruvian Andes, the trip it`s about 2 hours, Cusco’s elevation is 3300m / 11,300ft, and the trailhead called Phulawasipata is at 4200m/ 14,300ft.

Upon reaching the top of the 5100 meters above sea level, on the way you see glacial peaks, red mountains, rocky hills, and traditional llamas and alpacas grazing along the valley, when you reach the top of the mountain at 5038 masl, you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the Andes and the Andean fauna.

afterwords  we will begin to descend this time taking a detour towards the Red Valley, the name is due to the special pigmentation of the earth that has an intense reddish color due to the abundant amount of minerals, this road will be more special because perhaps we will be one of the only groups on this route, the road will last between 1 hour at 1:30 minutes to reach Phullawasipata where our transport will be waiting to take us to enjoy a deserved and delicious lunch in Cusipata.
