Reactive monitoring. It will verify if Peruvian State complied with correcting observations in a citadel declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Mission is led by César Moreno-Triana.
The Mission of “Reactive Monitoring” of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) arrived in Cusco to evaluate the state of conservation and management of the Historic Sanctuary of Machupichu. From today the mission will be transferred to this citadel located in the province of Urubamba, in the middle of the jungle.
It is an exceptional measure prepared by the World Heritage Committee to verify whether the Peruvian State has remedied the observations made to the handling and care of the Inca legacy. These observations have to do with deficiencies in the handling of the load capacity of visitors to the citadel, insufficiency of accesses and exits, among other points.
